Are you interested in becoming a part of our RC flying community?
The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the FAA has officially approved FLY-A-WAYs RC Club as a FRIA location! As of Sept 16th, 2023 all RC aircraft (drone, fixed wing or helicopter) are required to have an FAA Remote ID compliant transmitter or compatible manufacture's receiver on board. However at community based flying sites such as FAWs RC Club approved as a FRIA location, pilots ARE NOT REQUIRED to install FAA Remote ID modules in their RC aircraft or transmit digital location data while flying. This means that all pilots flying within the boundaries of the FAWs RC Field are free to fly without any Remote ID equipment.
The 2024 Board Member nominees were affirmed by separate majority votes for each. Darrell Skelton, Ivan Castellanos and Bob Cole will be joining our leadership team this coming year and we look forward to their participation in managing the business of the club. Thank you to all that took the time and voted online this past month.
Unfortunately, until drier days return we ask that everyone be mindful of not driving or parking on the grass. Please help us keep the wheel ruts and mud to a minimum. Our expanded gravel parking area is open for parking all year long.
